Masters and Johnson, Governor Hughes and Ramsey Clark
Join Distinguished Speakers at ABA Annual Meeting

A program covering wide and varied interests and touching
upon problems of great social significance, has been planned
by the Family Law Section for this year's annual ABA meeting
in Washington, D.C.
Dr. William Masters and Mrs. Virginia Johnson, the
well-known sex therapy experts will present their program on
Monday, August 6th entitled SEXUAL FACTORS IN MARI-
TAL DISCORD. That same evening, Dr. Masters and Mrs.
Johnson will conduct a workshop entitled Identifying and
Evaluating the Sexual Factor in Marital Discord. Attendance
at the workship is limited to 100, at Dr. Masters' request, and
admission is by ticket only. Dr. Masters and Mrs. Johnson have
done pioneer work in this area and have trained teams of
therapists to treat the sexual problems. of married couples.
Our programs will begin on Sunday, August 5th with the
challenging conference on Family Law in the Fifty States,
moderated by Maxine T. McConnell and Louise B. Raggio.
Participants include Chairmen of Local and State Bar Associa-
tion Family Law Sections and Committees, with an enlight-
ening presentation of the developments across the country as
the practitioners view it.
Three workshops of unusual interest will be presented at
two o'clock that afternoon which are geared to social issues of
current concern.
Dennis E. Haggerty will present a seminar on Mental
Retardation-Law and Ethics which will introduce such
prominent speakers as former Gov. Richard J. Hughes of New
Jersey, Ramsey Clark, former Attorney General of the United
States and Dean Thomas L. Shaffer of Notre Dame University.

A multi-screen film presentation entitled The Right to be
Me will be shown.
Another workshop to be presented that same afternoon
will concern itself with a rapidly growing segment of our
population-the senior citizen. Norman Kalcheim will preside
at a seminar entitled Legal Problems of the Aging and which
will present such distinguished speakers as Edward J. Krill of
Washington, D.C. and Paul Nathanson, Los Angeles, Executive
Director of the National Senior Citizen's Law Center.
An innovative approach to counseling by the lawyer who
does much Family Law will be presented by Virginia Anne
Church and Lucille Von Arx DeBoers, also that same
afternoon. Dr. Church will discuss the role of the Juro-Psy-
chologist in matrimonial practice and Ms. DeBoers who is an
attorney and marriage counselor, will present the more
traditional approach.
On Monday evening, simultaneously with the workshop of
Masters and Johnson, Dr. Allen Zacher and Dr. Church will
present a seminar on The Family Lawyer's Role in Identi-
fying and Handling Sexual Dysfunctions. Attendance will be
limited to 50 and admission will be by ticket only.
Harry Fain, the distinguished expert on custody will
present a round table discussion on Tuesday, August 7th at 9
a.m. on A Bill of Rights for Children of Divorced or
Separated Parents. Professor Harry H. Foster, Jr., Dr. Doris
Jonas Freed and Judge Ralph Podell will be among the
outstanding participants.
At two o'clock that same day, the Honorable Edwin S.
Cohen, Under Secretary of the Treasury and Professor John Y.
