Springer/ Kluwer Academic Publishers are pleased to announce that as of
the beginning of 2004, starting with Volume 10 (the first issue of which now
lies before you) Professor Ernesto U. Savona has accepted the position of
Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research.
Professor Savona is the Director of TRANSCRIME, the Joint Research
Center on Transnational Crime of the University of Trento and the Catholic
University of Milan. He is currently serving as the President of the European
Society for Criminology, and he has been on the journal's Advisory Board
for the past five years. In addition, we are delighted that Dr Barbara Vettori,
Researcher at TRANSCRIME and Head of TRANSCRIME's Milan office,
will be acting as the journal's Managing Editor.
The European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research was founded
in 1991 by Professor Josine Junger-Tas, and thanks to her outstanding
expertise and the enthusiasm with which she and Managing Editor Dr Hans
Boutellier led the journal, it quickly became one of the main criminology
journals on the European continent, read by researchers and policy makers,
both in the various European member states as well as at the EU level. We
are honoured that Professor Savona and Dr Vettori have joined the journal
as Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor and we are confident that their
input will be an invaluable asset.
