The late Brigitte Haar, an esteemed member of our Editorial Board and the Univer-
sity of Frankfort Law Faculty, was fascinated by law and finance. In recognition of
her stimulating role in research and teaching, Birgitta Wolff, Katharina Pistor, Klaus
J. Hopt, Casimiro A. Nigro, Jbrg R. Stahl, Wolf-Georg Ringe, Mark Fenwick, Joseph
A. McCahery and Erik P.M. Vermeulen have contributed to this issue. Brigitte Haar
also had a penchant for exploring uncharted waters, urging colleagues and students
to take a fresh look at established beliefs. It is in this spirit that she would have
enjoyed reading the articles by Olha O. Cherednychenko and Qingxiu Bu.
