     Environmental Law Reporter

The Environmentat Law Reporter is a comprehensive environmental law resource
which furnishes subscribers with two distinct services:
* ELR provides timely reporting of recent developments in the field, including federal
and state court opinions, actions in pending cases, legislative developments, federal
agency rulemakings and announcements, and actions taken by the U.S. Supreme
Court.
* ELR is a fully indexed legal reference library offering analytic comments and articles
written by ELR's editors and other environmental lawyers, complete coverage of court
opinions, statutes, and regulations, as well as summaries of pleadings in hundreds of
environmental lawsuits.
A current subscription to ELR consists of five looseleaf binders: ELR Indexes,
Volume Year XV-1985, Pending Litigation, Statutes, and Regulations. In addition,
ELR Volume Years I-XIV are available either individually or in the complete set at a
reduced price.

                           Indexes Binder

The ELR Indexes binder is the key to using ELR in research. It contains all the current
and cumulative indexes for the annual volumes and Pending Litigation.
The binder is divided into six sections, each of which is located behind a separate
index tab: How to Use ELR, Cumulative Table of Cases, Subject Matter Index Vol-
umes I-XII, Current Year Subject Matter Index, Annual Bibliographies, and Pending
Litigation Index. Immediately following the How to Use ELR section is the:

Cumulative Table of Cases
The Cumulative Table of Cases, ELR INDEXES 1001 et seq., is a comprehensive list of
every court opinion published in full or digested in ELR from January 1971 to Decem-
ber 1984; it is revised annually. [Note: All court decisions published in Volume Year
XV are listed in the Table of Contents located behind the Litigation tab of Volume
Year XV.] Accompanying the name of each case are the docket number(s), date of
decision, name of the court, and its ELR citation. The Cumulative Table of Cases also
provides, where available, parallel citations to the West reporting system, Environ-
ment Reporter Cases, and other systems such as U.S. Reports. Each opinion is group-
ed with all other decisions in the same litigation, along with citation signals, e.g.,
rev'd sub nom., to indicate clearly the progress of the litigation through the judicial
system. For example:
