The articles published here had their genesis in the Global Roundtable Webi- nar Series on assessing constitutional decay, breakdown, and renewal held by the IACL-AIDC in December 2020. The webinar series was convened by co-editors of this volume, Associate Professor Tom Daly and Professor Wojciech Sadurski, who supplied the intellectual vision for the webinars as well as determination and creativity in converting a planned in-person workshop to an online event. The resulting volume of Constitutional Studies provides a rich and truly global perspective on the constitutional dynamics of democratic decay, breakdown, and renewal. The International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL-AIDC) was formed in 1981 with the overriding object of providing a forum in which constitu- tionalists from all parts of the world can reflect on constitutional problems with the insights drawn from constitutions and constitutional systems globally. This volume is a powerful demonstration of the capacity of these global networks to advance our understanding of critical constitutional questions.
