Should all the weight of life Be laid across our shoulders and the future, rife With woe and struggle, meet us face to face At just one place, We could not go; Our feet would stop, and so God lays a little on us every day, And never, I believe, on all the way Will burdens bear so deep, Or pathways lie so steep, But we can go, if by God's power We only bear the burdens of the hour. The New Year will bring to the League many problems and many responsibilities. To solve them all at once would be difficult, but we have courage to believe that taking them up hour by hour, and day by day, we shall be able to master them, and to secure results that count as truly as the years count time. Mistakes will be made, but let us hope that at the end of the year, progress will be shown. Unitedly we will all have to do our part, and each seek to do each day the task that is given us to do. Many suggestions come from the members, some complaints, some inquiries as to why we do not do otherwise than we do. The suggestions offtimes are valuable, and are both appreciated and solicited. Let us all remember however, that it is only By slow degrees, by more and more that we move forward. If the League does not do all you think it should, please be a bit patient and forbearing. Your co-operation, your encouragement, your daily help we crave. To each one of you. we wish a year of joy and prosperity.
