APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR OF
   THE CANADIAN TAX FOUNDATION

          LARRY F. CHAPMAN, FCA


T  he board of governors of the Canadian Tax Foundation is pleased to announce that Larry
   F. Chapman, FCA has been appointed Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of
the Canadian Tax Foundation, effective July 1, 2008.
   Larry graduated from the University of Toronto in 1975 with a bachelor of commerce
degree. After graduation, he joined Price Waterhouse and in 1986 was admitted to the part-
nership. In 1997, he joined Bacardi Limited as Vice-President of Tax Planning and Strategy.
He returned to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1998, and was national managing tax partner
from 2001 to 2007. He received his chartered accountant designation in 1977, and in 2003
he was appointed a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
   Larry has been actively involved with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants-
teaching various tax courses, recently chairing a task force, and serving as media spokes-
person on tax matters. Larry has taught at both the University of Toronto and the University
of Waterloo.
   Before accepting this appointment, he was a governor and a member of the Executive
Committee of the Foundation. He is a former co-editor of the International Tax Planning feature
of the Canadian Taxlournal and has spoken at numerous Foundation conferences.
