                              MEETINGS

     The annual Business Meeting will be held on May 13, 1977 at the Hyatt
Regency. Further information will be covered in a separate mailing.

     The Educational Meeting held April 22, 1977, included a Materials
Update 1977: Selected Recent Works in Law and Related Areas and a
workshop on use of Congressional Information Service and the American
Statistical Index. A report on the meeting will appear in the next
newsletter for those who missed this valuable session.


                              COPYRIGHT

     The full text of the lecture, An Interim Look at the Copyright
Revision Act of 1976 presented by William D. North at the February 16, 1977
CALL Educational Meeting appears on the final pages of this newsletter.
All librarians should read this and carefully consider changes that will
have to be made in the coming year in order to bring their photocopying
practices into compliance with the new law.

     For those interested in furthering their understanding of copyrighted
law, the University of Illinois will offer the course Copyright and
Libraries to be held June 27 - July 20 at the Chicago Circle Campus.
William F. Nasri is to teach the course which will focus on the aspects
of copyright most relevant to libraries. Nasri teaches a course on copyright
at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Library and Information
Science and is author of the book Crisis in Copyright. Tuition for the
University of Illinois course, which carries one unit of graduate credit,
is $88.00.
