CHICAGO LAW LIBRARY BULLETIN

                         CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF LAW LIBRARIES

No. 58 April, 1975

                                  FROM THE PRESIDENT

We are happy to announce that the aims that we set out to achieve last fall
have been to a great extent realized. First of all, we strove to strengthen the
structure of our association by revising our existing constitution. This work is
approaching completion and the new by-laws will be presented for voting May 9. We
urge all members to attend the Annual Business Meeting and to participate by cast-
ing their ballots.

We will be going through a transitional period during which certain problems
may come up; e.g., how to nominate officers. For this reason, certain provisos
were drawn up to bridge the two constitutions. These are printed elsewhere in the
Bulletin and will also be issued with the printed copies of By-Laws that will be
mailed to members.

Our second primary aim was to serve the educational needs of our members. It
seems that this has been adequately carried out by offering monthly seminars on sub-
jects requested by the members and by sponsoring a fall institute.

Chapter breakfasts are scheduled during the AALL Convention for Wednesday,
June 25, from 7:30-9:00 A. M. We have been informed that the Directors Dining Room
has been tentatively reserved for our chapter and will accommodate approximately
15 people.

The Chapter's Workshop this year will be held Sunday, June 22, from 9:30-12:00
noon, at the Century Plaza. It is open to any member who would like to attend.
Officers and committee chairmen are especially urged to come. Jane Hammond, Vice
President/President Elect, has requested that problems, even if unique to a chapter,
be submitted beforehand so she can include them on the meeting's agenda, which will
be printed and distributed before the meeting.

                              1975/76 SLATE OF OFFICERS

The Nominating Committee of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries, consist-
ing of Stephen Czike, Leon Liddell and Charlotte B. Stillwell, Chairperson, met on
March 24, 1975, and is pleased to present the following as nominees for the various
offices listed below for the 1975-1976 year:
