                      MRS. MARIAN G. GALLAGHER,
                PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
             OF LAW LIBRARIES ADDRESSES CHICAGO CHAPTER

        On September 20, 1954, Mrs. Marian G. Gallagher, President
  of the American Association of Law Libraries was presented to the
  members of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries at a luncheon
  meeting at Normandy House. lirs. Gallagher described to her audi-
  ence the current activities of the national association. She
  touched upon the work of the New Horizons Committee, which has
  conducted a long-term appraisal of the program of the American
  Association of Law Libraries. Mr. William D. Murphy of the
  Chicago Chapter, contributed to the report of the New Horizons
  Committee, which will appear in the next issue of the Law Library
  Journal. Mrs. Gallagher also spoke about the work of the Special
  Policy Committee of the A.A.L.L., which is studying the financial
  foundation of the A.A.L.L., as well as its structure of com-
  mittees. Mr, William R. Roalfe, Director of The Second Law
  Library Workshop of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries, is
  a member of the Special Policy Committee. Father Redmond A.
  Burke, C.S.V., President of the Chicago Association of Law Li-
  braries, expressed the gratitude of the members to Mrs. Gallagher
  for her highly enjoyable and informative discussion.

                           ANNUAL MEETING
                    OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
                    OF LAW LIBRARIES WILL BE HELD
                 IN CHICAGO-JULY 5th TO 8th, 1955

        The next meeting of the national association will take
  place on the above dates, right in our own back yard, that is,
  at the Drake Hotel. Mrs. Marian G. Gallagher, at the last
  luncheon meeting, suggested that the theme of the annual meet-
  ing might be: What Do People on the Other Side of the Desk
  Think of Us?
