RESUMO
Este Artigo inicia conceituando o novo Imperialismo como fenômeno econômico apoiado
em duas teorias: a marxista e a liberal. Afirma que, até hoje, há os que defendem o
entendimento de que Imperialismo e Imperialismo Econômico são sinônimos. Em seguida,
aponta origens teóricas do Movimento, que se baseiam precipuamente nos princípios e nas
doutrinas de Lênin, Karl Marx, Thomas Malthus, Stuart Mills, Hobson, Adam Smith dentre
outros. O Trabalho se vale dessas teorias sobre Imperialismo para contestar a ingenuidade
dos enfoques e as suas validades lógica e empírica. Conclui com o viés sociológico
imprimido ao assunto pelo sociólogo Joseph Schumpeter.

The Quetion of the Imperialism
ABSTRACT
This article initiates appraising the new Imperialism as supported economic phenomenon in
two theories: the marxist and the liberal. It affirms that, until today, it has the ones that
defend the agreement of that Imperialism and Economic Imperialism are synonymous.
After that, it points theoretical origins of the Movement, that is based on the principles and
the doctrines of Lênin, Karl Marx, Thomas Malthus, Stuart Mills, Hobson, Adam Smith
and others. This article use these theories of Imperialism for to contest the naivety of the
approaches and its validities logical and empirical. It concludes with the sociological
aspects and printed the subject for the sociologist Joseph Schumpeter.
