   The complex implementation of legal provisions of current Spanish Patent
     Law about jurisdiction of Spanish courts on Intellectual Property Law.

Resumen: En este articulo se aborda la situaci6n actual en Espaha en Io tocante a
los complejos criterios legales del art. 118 de la Ley de Patentes de cara a la
determinaci6n de la competencia judicial objetiva de los Jueces y Tribunales
espaholes en materia de propiedad industrial. Conforme a dichos criterios, tan solo
existen en Espaha algunas areas geograficas en las que es posible encontrar
juzgados especializados en este ambito juridico. Y de ahi que hayan surgido
numerosos problemas de hecho para los demandados en litigios sobre propiedad
industrial cuando tienen su domicilio en otras areas geograficas en Espaha, puesto
que entonces pueden ser forzados a comparecer ante estos Juzgados especializados
muy lejos de sus propias ciudades o regiones. En este trabajo se analizan estos
problemas en el marco de nuestro ordenamiento interno y del Derecho de la UE.
Finalmente, se ha formulado una valoraci6n critica.

Abstract: This paper is focused on the current situation in Spain in concerning with
the complex legal criteria of article 118 of Spanish Patent Act in order to determine the
jurisdiction of Spanish Courts on intellectual property law. In accordance with these
criteria, there are only several geographical areas in Spain where it is possible to find
specialized Courts on this field of Law. That is why there are a lot of factual problems
for defendants in intellectual property litigations when they are domiciled in other
geographical areas in Spain, because they can be compulsory brought by plaintiffs
before these specialized Courts far away of their own towns or regions. This work
