This is a comprehensive guide to help the prac-
titioner manage to win trials. It is designed for those
who represent either side in civil or criminal cases,
in federal or state courts. The guide examines all of
the elements common to trials; it offers tips, tech-
niques and practical suggestions at every stage.
There are more than forty checklists for key proce-
dures such as conducting legal research, rating ju-
ries, ordering witnesses, using leading questions,
and objecting to jury instructions.
I was favorably impressed with the exhaustive
master-litigation checklists. The master outlines on
researching the judge, organizing the opening state-
ment, gathering evidence for trial, preparing for
closing arguments, and structuring a personal-
injury charge are impressive.
The authors include sample documents such as
trial briefs, questionnaires and statements. The book
leaves no stone unturned. It is everything a novice
litigator would want. I highly recommend this book
as the text for associate training.
