Interview with Professor Andrew Beckerman-
Rodau Author of: A Concise Guide to the Nuts &
Bolts of Estates and Future Interests by Andrew
Beckerman-Rodau, Durham, North Carolina:
Carolina Academic Press, 2004 ISBN 0-89089-
046-3, pp. 219, $22.95

Interviewer: Michael L. Rustad, Co-Editor of the
Bimonthly Review of Law Books

Michael Rustad: Why did you decide to write this guide

interests. I intended to expand the outline into a book
but I was always side-tracked from completing this
project. Finally, after Carolina Academic Press
expressed interest in the project I went to work on it.

AB-R: My primary intended audience is first year law
students taking Property law. The goal of the book is to
demystify estates and future interests so that it is both

is also intended for upper class law students who may
need to brush up on estates and future interests for an
upper level course on Wills and Trusts or Decedent's
Estates.

MR: How long have you been teaching property law?
What textbook do you use in your course?

AB-R: I think I have been teaching property law for at
