AIR COMMERCE BULLETIN BECOMES MONTHLY PUBLICATION WITH THIS ISSUE With this issue, the Air Commerce Bulletin becomes a monthly publica- tion, appearing on the 15th of each month. Notices to airmen and air- craft operators, formerly carried in the Air Commerce Bulletin, now are issued weekly by the Aeronautics Branch in a mimeographed publication which bears the title, Weekly Notices to Airmen. Although the change from a semi- monthly to a monthly basis for the Air Commerce Bulletin was effected chiefly as an economy measure in line with the Federal Government's desire to curtail expenditures wherever possi- ble, the new plan for issuing notices to airmen will enhance the value of this service by placing information in the hands of pilots and air transport opera- tors at more frequent intervals. Weekly Notices to Airmen are mailed to airports for display on bulletin boards and to scheduled air- 226-33-1 transport operators for use by opera- tions officers and pilots. Owing to the reduced appropriations it is necessary to limit distribution of the weekly notices to these two sources which, however, should reach all persons who are actively engaged in flying and for whom the service is intended. The material in Weekly Notices to Airmen, includes information with respect to municipal and commercial airports, Federal airway facilities (bea- con lights, intermediate landing fields, radio-communication stations, radio range beacons, radio marker beacons, and teletypewriter services) estab- lishment or discontinuance of private aeronautical lights, air navigation maps, and special notices.
