President's
Message

T he College is composed of an out
standing group of very talented, ex-
tremely able lawyers. It is an honor and
privilege to be the President. With your
help and support, I hope to follow the very
high standards set by my predecessors.
I would like to congratulate Mal Moore
for a very successful term of office and for
his effective leadership. Among his many
accomplishments, Mal kept the College
fully involved in national tax matters,
including efforts to repeal or change IRC
Section 2036 (c); he broadened the mem-
bership and scope of College Commit-
tees; he instituted a new one-day seminar
at the fall 1988 meeting in Kansas City
which focused on financial planning; and
he was instrumental in the Tucson Bike
Ride campaign, which raised about
$115,000 for the ACPC foundation.
Mal also arranged some outstanding
College meetings during his term. The
educational program at the Tucson An-
nual Meeting, developed by Waller Hor-
sley and the Program Committee, was
