He Also .developed num~erous perianal flstulae and he as nassing gas and feces thrugh the fistulousuopeiiings as ell as through the penis I was ataincalled-and-elec'. to do_ a transverse colostomyto c ar up these Yistulas. This ias done and .the colostomy was functicning perfectly. It has resulted in the drying up of -all the perineal fistulae. The patient came to ay offico the day. before abidssion to the hospital and: o m this occasion he compla.ined. of ier. nauseated and not being able to :eap cnything on his stonah and o feeling very woak. He was very pale. His Hgb. done in the office was read as 45a. He was then admitted to Hialeah Eosoital and a G.I. ser.e revealed the c::istence of a duodenal ulcer. All other studi s were essentially nogntive other than the persistence of a ristula between the new rectum and the penis. Since admission to the hospital he has received transfusions and has been placed on diet and medication.
