Forward.ed under separate cover as Attachment A are two LIENVOY
transcripts of 12 November 1963 and two LIETUOY tran-cripts of 11 JTvember
1963 which Headquarters may consider for transitta. to Sta.ion Stodkholm.
. Forwarded under separate cover as At tachrmrent B is a pihoto,:.-aph of
an uni'lentified male (who was accompanied by an u.ni51entificd rJemolc whose
photograph the Station asset did not obtain) who vis:iteLd. the oviet ;1bassy
at 1400 hours on 12 November 1963. The Station believes this ;ale is iden-
tical with Subject since the male in the photograph is the only uIi.2en .iie1
- male who was also accompanied by a woman and, secondly, this nale appears
to. be a nordic type. The Station recognizes, however, that Subje.ct may havc.
only claimed to be a Swede for cover purposes.
3. The following is the comment made by Douglas J. FEINCLASS, 1;he
Station's LIENVOY translator, concerning AttachmenL A:
The exact spelling of this name could not be deter nined. He
started by saying that it is - W - n - II.. and then stopped, emphasizin
the two dots above A. It is very strange thati he, bein ; a Swede did .o'
seek the aid of his Swedish Consulate, but applied to thc Sovit Ym-
bassy and asked for a man, whom he ne' by chane2 (?) in rest.;'..rant.
-TPut. stranger still is the response of the Embassy officials, who wenTi.
out of their way to find a ship for him. Usually requesl.s of .his
nature are brushed aside and quite ofcn in a very mird.e manner. Jnii' I
from his non-British accent and almost flawless English, he must have
1ived in '-he United States or Canada for quite some time. (Tn: Stati o
LThWOOD officer agrees with FEINGLA2S' conumcnt regarding ';he n- ual. re-
Imctance of Soviet Embassy officials to help in a matter of Lhi is typc. )
