AMWHIP advised that he had called to inform us that he -had just -finished a half hour conver- sation with AMIASH'1 in Geneva. AMLASH stated that he would .be in. Geneva until Sunday at which time he would return to,. Paris. He plans Wy to return to PBRUMYN some time during the 1f4st week =of 'e1ary. He also stated that he would like to -oavesanotherdonversation with AMBIDDY/1 before he (AMIAASH) returns home and requested AMWHIP to make the necessary. arrangem s. -AMLASH also stated that he desired AMWHIP/1 to' lie preset--at this meeting. 2. AWHIP stated that he was not sure that it was a good idea for AMLASH and AMBIDDY to meet again. AMWHIP did not elaborate an this point and we did not discuss it further on the telephone. The undersigned howevery told Carlos that, on the contrary-, he could not see any objection to the meeting and in fact, considering a great nun er of details left un- touched at their earlier meeting,w h was probably necessary for them to meet again. AMWHIP/1 did not contest thisso apparently his position was merely one of caution and he sought guidance on the point. 3. AMWHIP/l stated that-he was prepared to return to Europe at any time we desired. He asked only that he be given 4 or 5 days advanced notice. We thanked him for this effort and also informed him that Nick would also want to return to Europe for meetings with AMLASH. 4.
