Meeting/Time/Place and Purpose. Meeting was held with (C&ollado at 1000 hours in Suite 37 at the Mayflower Hotel, WashingtongZD.C. a ir(_olladolis chief of the Governmental Relations Office of (Standard Oil New Jersey with his office located at 06 l30 Rockefeller Plaza- New York (details of address to be provided later), telephone -.974-300Q) Purpose of the meeting was to request the use of Mr.CCollado's) me as a backstop for a phase of the rapprochement deception o ation which would involve AMWHIP-l. We asked Mr. Collado)f r 15 minutes of his time, however, the meeting progressed N satisfactorily that we spent just under one hour with him. 2. After an explanation of what we wanted from Mr. ollado) he agreed to cooperate. He had only one reservation an that is the fact that some members of his family are still in Cuba. They are being checked out, although Mr. CCollado'S role as the carrier of a rumor heard in Washington circles'9is certainly no type of activity that we can foresee a endangering these relatives. The problems of his relatives0 nd the aforementioned opinion were discussed at length with Mr. Collado ) ho readily agreed to accept our judgement in this matter. M. ollado)was advised of the identity of AMWHIP-1 and e advisability was discussed of allowing the agent to meet MA.(ollado)in order to strengthen the plausibility of the source of the rumor. Mr.Colladowas in agreement with this and very kindly made arrangements with! his secretary in New York for a meeting with AMWHIP-1 at 1500 hours on.Monday, 8. March in his office in New -York City. 3. The undersigned has advised AMWHIP of this development and the appointment, and the fact that he (the undersigned) will be in New York Monday to brief AMWHIP on the meeting and possibly also attend himself.
