The undersigned met A11WHIP-1 at the del Pezz est ur n 33est 47th St., at 1300 hours o 7 jjyh srtye purpe of briefing him on better telephone security while in Europe. Other operational matters as discussed below were broached. Details of the Meeting: 2. In response to a request from(Paris, AMWHIP-1 was given a security briefing for his trips to Europe. We paid particular attention to the need for security conciousne' sshile t lephoning his KUBARK contacts at the variou embassies n Europe e stressed France in particular it had een this ta'tionjwhich reported a certain laxity in AWHIP-t's security practices in Paris. AIHIP-l appreciated the advice and guidance and said he would adhere to it in the future. He in turn stated he felt that Roberto should begin meeting him in more secure places than his hotel room, where apparently the majority of the AMW'HIP-1/Roberto meetings take place. We stated we would take this up with Roberto in Paris prior to AM1fIP-1's projected trip during the week of 21 Mtarch. 3. It was aso sum ested to A1WHIP-1 that due to the sensitivity of tit`AFL-19 CA operation he was about to undertake,he forego meeting any KUBARK staffers 4n~ Europe during his forthcomi'L trip. Hie was told he should contact only Roberto in Paris since this had been specifically requested by Roberto and his meetings with Roberto should be kept to a minimum any information he I1/N
