This subject has boon soon three times at thn Psycholo:ical Service
Ccnter. On April 9, 19-4, wo had a long interview. with hi:: in which
ho explained the history of his soizures. On Juno I, 1954, he
received the TAT and a Freo A'oociation Teat, ucinft a list of words
that was capecially prepared for him. On that date, he promisod
to come back to bring a list that he had made of all his seizures
oince Septembor 19;2 up to the prosent time, with an indication of
the emotional problems that he had on tho.days he was sick. This
list was brought, by him, to our office.on June 30, 1964.

Pennonnfor Connultntion

To try to determine if there woro any poychological factors influ-
encing this subject's epiloptic ,soizuros
resiults of Psycholo ical Inv.,rctiration
-In a case such as this, it to obvious that organic factors are the
wain dotorminant of the patientlo dioace, but from the interviewi.
and the tiests, wo received the impression that the patients omotion-
al state has often played a certain role in `tri'piorin his epileptic
seizurea. Psychothorapoutic treatment that. would enable this pa-
tient to gain better control of his emotions would obviously be high-
ly beneficial for him.

1Intnllictenco

This subject was riot formally tested in order to dnterino his I.Q.,
but fror-hia conversation and from his responzes to the personality
tosts, it is quite clear that he is a man end* cd with a cuperior
intolligence, althou:h somo impairment has nrceoarily resulted be-
cause of his frcquent epiloptic seizures, and, recently, because of
his brain surgery. Ho was not tested for intelli-enco becauso it was
not feasible to do so sinco his operation had been dono just a few
weeks ago and the possibility of some transient offecta of the sur-
gical procedure miL.ht still influence any results. However, fro-% a
strictly clinical viewpoint, when comparing the cubject's reaction
before and after the operation, the amount of impairment produced
by the operation does not seem to be really considerable, and, on the
other hand, there is a remarkable decrease in his anxiety.
