1. Reference is cade to conversations between Mr.
Victor Fallen of this Agency and Mr. illiam (Cegar of the
Bureau concerning Subject. The substance of this report
has been discussed with Mr. Cregar.
2. Thin Agency received a letter dated 4 July 1982, o
stationery of the Fair Play for Cuba Comittee, 799 Broadway,
New York 3, 3. Y., signed A Friend. In the letter the
riter indicated .he could be of assistance to this Agency;
suggeBted liontreal, Canada, as a discreet location for a
meeting if this Agency were interested in discLening the
possibilities of cooperatiOn; a ked that this Agency arrange
for hiu transportation and exponses while Ie ontreal; and
requested that he be personally contacted by phone at the
Qomittee's address or at his borne. The Committee stationery
letterhead contained two names, Robert TABER, Executive
Secretary, and Richard G131380, Acting Executive Secretary.
Pros the letter there was no way to determine whether TABZR,
OIDOSO, or some other person wrote the letter. Thin Agency .
took no action on this letter.
3. Mr. fallen made available a copy of the above letter
to Mr. Cregar on 16 July 1962.
4. On 19 July 1962, Philip K. Reiss, Department of
' Agriculture, Code 111, Extention 6840, requested an inter-
view with a representative of thin Agency. Reiss, a former
employee of this Agency, was subsequently interviewed on 20
July 1962, at which time he produced a personal letter,
dated 16 July 1962, from Richard GIBSON, Fair Play for Cubm
Qo..,ittee, to Thorton Hagert, 214 B. Columbia, a1ls Cburch,
Virginia, einss steparother.   eiss expiainmd taLt G...
was a friend of his stepbaother, and apparently at sometime
