       Intelligence  Service  until  April  1964.

       The  following report  is one  of a series  containing
       personality  informxation provided  by  the source  and
       includes  supplemental  information  from  the records
       of this  Agency.

       It is requested  that  the addressees  take  no action  on any
       of the individuals   mentioned  in the personality   reports
       without  first checking  with  this Agency.


     Alfrodo  MIRABAL  Diaz, pseudonym  Foderico,   is the
 chief Cuban  Intelligence  officer  in Mexico  City  as of
 Janaary 1964.   Although  Manuel. VEGA .is- replacing MIRABAL
 as chief, MIRABAL  possibly  will  continue  in Mexico.. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

 Headauarters  Comments

 1.  In September  1947,  a usually  reliable  source reported
     that Alfredo  LIRABAL,  director  of the  Sugar Workers'
     Union of  Central Stewart  and  Colonies  and delegate  of
.    Central to  official  and managemont  organizations,.was
     active in  the Partido  Socialista  Popular  (Cuban  Communist
-   Party  - PSP)  in the  Province of  Carmaguey.

2.   In the 12 April  1953,  issue of  the publication   :oy
    an  interview  with Alfredo  MIRABAL  Diaz,  financial
    secretary  of  the Sherwin  Williams  Worrers'  Union,  was
    printed  with  reference  to the wor:cers' demands.
