SOURCE   A former Cuban  intelligence  officer who.served  with  the Cuban
         Intelligence.Service  until  April 1964.


         Headquar.ters eomoeit.  The  following  is a translation  of a
         doci~meunt Which 0orde- provided this Agency  and concerns  the
         General Directorate  of  Intelligence  (Direccion General  de
         Inte~igencia-.:>DGI)  MA Departmet's   policy  guidance  directive
         for Cuban intelligence  representatives   in Mexico.  The  MA
         D:nartment no  longer exists-as  such, having  been divided  into
         two departments:   Illegal Department   (I.legal) and the National
         Liberation Department  (Liberacion  Nacional  - LN).


         Source.Comment.   Mexico  is of special  importance  as a country
         through' which much  information  is obtained and  as a country
         with which  Cuba desires  to maintain  good relations.   As a
         result  the Cuban intelligence  service  does not  mount revolu-
         tionary  activities directed  against  the Mexican  government.
