SUBJECT: Attempt to Procure Cuban Pesos by AMWHIP/1
06 1. According t a letter received by A3 HIP/l from
Carlos 'Bordo son of &icardo Bordo (AMWEE/9), his father
nformed hin that -he was unable to.procure any pesos that
had been requested of him by AMWHIP/1.
2. COMMENT: ponsidering the recent difficulties that
some members at the Ltalian)mbassy in Havana had had as a
result of the arrest.-of their prime source of black market
pesos, it was not surprising to learn thatEordw3. unable
to service AMWIIP/l's request. Due to the sensitii ty of
the AMWEE operations, AMWHIP/1 has been told not to ask
