On 1.3 February 1975, Special Agent (fun) Austin cf the Special Iuvestigationas office of tie US Bureau of Cuetoms Atlanta office (Phone: (404) 526-7731) called and wanted to speak to the writer of this memorandum. We were out of town at ths time and he asked the secretary, who took his call, to have us return his call Tuesday morning (18 February) when we returned. Je called 1dm back the morning of 18 February. 2. mar. Austin said that the reason he was caltin was with regard to a contact he had had from a friend of t`Den Williamsn' (the individual who had caller our Agency and who was the subject of the above-raferenced - memorandua). The information that Austin had to impart was essentially as follos: 3. illiamson's friend, who vas the one that Willamson- called us about with regard to information on the shipment of arms and the Iapeuding overthrow of a foreign country (see cited emrandum), had contacted Austin and asked that Austin try to seat up a maeting between him (Williamson's friend) and us (Austin and Peterson). He had provided Austin with Our name and phone number which had been given him by Wi1imson. We told Austin .that we had only talked with illiamson cm. ta the phone--when Wiiaon had sought to set up a ametlng between us and his friend, and that we had never met Williamsn's friend and knew notbing shont him other than what Willimon had told us on the phone. We told Austin that we had given our name and offies phone number to Williamson because Wilan.msoa had said Mis friend would like to get in touch with us, and further told him that since that time (7 January 1975) we had had no call from -hm-vhich we said * seemed strange for someone apparently so eager to contact us. We inforaed Austin that we often get ,rank calls and we din 't just go around - eating with people who call ap on some weird subject. We said that we were sorry now that we had ever given illiamson our number.
