SUBJECT: Mitchell L. IER BELL
-     1. Subject phoned me at 1630 hours, U August from Powder
Springs,. Georgia. He provided the following informations
a. Thee definitely was a landing in the Isle of Pines
(   ent: this later proved incorrect.)
--     --The Venezuelan government, thtrough ito Consul General
in Miami, is fostering the Doinican underground move-
ment; A Venezuelan wouan, who is htr' country's Consul
Gereal in Cuba, visited the U.S. last week to try to
.       .by equipment for an anti-TRUJILLO movement.. Subject
claimed he was asked by RIZO (alias Bob SCOT2D to work
to try to get the Venezuelan and Dominican governments
together so that the latter can be lulled Into a sense
of secrity and then attacked. ~ RIZO is hanger around
the Venezuelan Consul General in Miami.
c. SILVA (YANSFERRERs assistant), PEDRAZA, and yMSFERRER
-    are air dropping material into Cuba and the Isle of Pines.
d. SILVA suggested WMt BELL return to the DR. Subject
wanted ers to pick up his expenses for the Lrip - since
he has no reason to go at his own expense.
e. He has heard that DE MOYA is back in the U.S. visiting
Washington and Subject wants to see him.
f. Subject pla ned to return to Miami in 2 or 3 days.
2. I told Subject his clearance has not yet been processed
and that I did not want to influence him in any way concerning his
actions since I hara no way of knowing when a clearance will be
granted.
