Assassinat inn cf President kennedy
REFERENCF iA/CO/235-77 Dated 30 September 1977
I. The referent merorandun reported infornation from
a ZR;AzIOO intelligence rerzrt of a statement mde by' the
Minister-Counsellor (MC) of the Cuban Embassy i ngston,
Jamaicj, on 24 September 1977, that Cuban exiles iuc as
DIAZ- L~(fnul (sic) and others had been involved in the
assassination of President John F. Kennedy. We believe
that this could refer either to Pedro DIAZ Lanz, or ns
brother Marcos DIAZ Lan:, formerly Chief and Deputy Chief,
respectielyv of the Cuban Revolutionary Air Fcce. Both
entered the U.S. from Cuba as exiles in mid-i959. Since
that time the DIAZ Lanz brothers reportedly have been
closely associated with, and. involved in numerous activitiec
with, Frank SiJRCiS fakes FlnOU14n (trao h

entered the U.S on his own. Although both were debriefed
by the Agency, there is no indication that they were ever
considered Agency assets.
2.. a ng sto Station queried source for further infor-
sation as proiset in paragraph 1 of the reference. The
source said that the MC referred to the Kennedy assassina-
tion during a pep talk to party members to maintain good
security. Further, that the MC said that recent infor-
mation had arrived implicating DIAZ Lan (fn) (sic),
former air force officer, in the Kennedy assacjination
but did not nention any other Cub-an exiles by nime or give
any further details. Although the MC did not identify the
source of his information, thcjgtn tto source hadI6C
the impression that the information might have been included
in a cable from tihe Cuban .Ministry of [oreign Affairs. The
source is unable to elicit further information from the MI:
without jeopardii ng his security. -
