          The follwing  data supplements that contained in
mowandum   under this caption dated October 23, 1963:

          LOAE         HALL-


           O  July 9, 1989, Ruben Miro Guardia, Miami, addaed
 that in April, 1959, he wan detained by Cuban Police in Havana,
 *a* During his detention he met a United States citizen
 named Laran Hall, who was also under detention at the time,
 J11l, a white male, approzinately 30 years of age, 5  10 tall,
 black hair, said he was from the State of Kansas, and had served
 In the United States Armed Forces for about six years,  Ball
 told Miro that he had arrived in Cuba In about March, 199,  and
 had subsequently been contacted by Camilo Cienfueges, a Cuban
 Rebel Army Cozmander.  Cienfuegos wanted Ball to train a group
 of men vm  were going to participate in am invasion of Nicaragua,
 Ball elaied  he trained a group of men an a farm known as La
 Lisa, located near Havana.  Hall said the food for the trainees
 came from the Cuban Military Staff Readquarters, on the orders
 of Cienfuegose

           MU   stated that Hall said he was arrested on April 8,
 1959, by Cuban authorities, who alleged Ball ean suspected of
 being an FBI Agent.  On Miro's departure from Cuba on July 7,
 1959, Hall was still in the custody of Cuban authorities, but
 iro  believed that Ball was going to be released and departed
 to the United States,

          A source who has  been Involved to Cuban revolutionary
activities for the past 77  years and ha. furnished reliable
Information in the past,-iv mod  on March 10,  1963, that Ball
had been to Miami for about the past three anoths, and associated
with Gerald Patrick Baening, an American adventurer, mercenary
and soldier of fortune.  Source stated Ball I  dinagreeable, In
not liked by the other mercenaries in Miami, In of low aal
charcteor  and appears to have a crimnal  bakground,
