Meeting was held with t 1000 hour e 375 at the Mayflower Hotel, Washingto Vt Ms abief of the Governmental Relations off ice of with his office located at E_ New Yor (details of address to be provided later), te ephone lurpose of the meeting was to request Ehe use of Mr. me as a backstop for a phase of the rapprochement de e 0ntion o ation which would involve AMWHIP-l. We asked Mr. fqr 15 minutes of his time, however, the meeting progresse satisfactorily that we spet just under one hour with him. 2. After an explanation of what we wanted from Mr he agreed to cooperate. He had only one reservation and that is the fact that some members of his family are still in Cuba. They are being checked out, although Mr. Lrole as the carrier of a rumor heard in Washington circlesV6is certainly no type of activity that we can foresee as endangering these relatives. The problems of his relatives nd the aforementioned opinion were discussed at length with Mr. ho readily agreed to accept our judgement in this matter. M was advised of the identity of AMWHIP-1 and he advisabixity was discussed of allowing the agent to meet MP I in order tostrnthen the plausibility of the source of the rumor. Mr as in agreement with this and very kindly made arrangements with his secretary in New York for a meeting with AMTWHIP-1 at 1500 hours on.Monday, 8 March in his office in Now-York City. 3. The undersigned has advised AMWHIP of this development and the appointment, and the fact that h (the undersigned) will be in New York Monday to brief AMWHIP on the meeting and possibly also attend himself.
