The information which follows was provided by Rudolf Sheptelevich T e n e n b a u m, a Jewish emi- grant from the Soviet union who has obtained a U.S. immigrant visa and plans to resettle in the New York City area during August 1975. Born on 16 April 1938 in Leningrad, he was a technical translator and English language teacher in Leningrad from 1960 until his depar- ture from the USSR in lay 1975. 2. In 1973, when 7e enbaum was seeking an American who could speak to some of his English language classes, he was introduced at the house of a student in Leningrad to Bernon Ferguson Mitchell, an Amrican who had defected to the Soviet Union in 1960. 3. Tenenbaum visited Mitchell several times during the period betyeen 1973 a=d May 1975. Mitchell lived in Leningrad at Prospekt Ri skogo-Korsakova Number 16, Apartment 1, in a large private house; his telephone number was 16-58-80. 4. Mitchell is married to a woman named Galina, last name unknown, who is dea-- of the piano faculty at the Leningrad Conservatory. They have no children. S.
