The information obtained in the name check of D&IDSON reveals that SubJect is an aggressive international businessman who would posasily participate in any business proposition for a comission; however, when negotiating with representatives of other countries, 'Ubject usually protects himself by reporting the business propos tion to a U.S. Government agency or official. he nm ch reveals that the relationship between Drew Pearson and may have resulted from Subjectes personal contact wi th both man. The Information re ay have reached Pearson through Subject's office associates. 2. The following are the details of the check on Subjects a. Subject, a U.S. citizen, born 19 January 1921, is married and maintains his residence and office in Washington, D.C. As reported by KUJUTP, 8 November 1955, Subject shzeied his office suite in the yatt Buildig with Jams Farrisa, a former ODACID e-.1yna, and Jack Northam Anderson and Frederick G. Blumenthal, gashington representatives of PARAD magazine. Frederick 0. Blumenthal is a former Drew pearon lagman wmile Anderson continues to work for Pearson, b. An OMIPT report dated 6 Novber 1957, stated taet Subject filed a registration stateant, No. 886, 18 April 1955, with the Foreign Agents Registration Section, Department of Justice. Subject listed as his foreign principal President A. Somosa, Republic of Nicaragua. Te nature and purpose of his representing the foreign princiPal was given as purchasing agent for various bureaua of the Republic of Nicaragua, including the military forces, He also stated that he dealt in general public relations and was self-employed. Another ODZEWY report of 18 June 1957 stated that Subject listed hig occupation as a Public Relations Comael and Business Consultant in a report to a local credit burea. The report indicated that Subject- preiosly spent some time in Cuba, M Wo, Nicaragua, and the MdicM Republic and is well acquainted with various business and govnment officials in the above-mentioned locations, c. n several occasions in the past Subject volunteered information to varios governant agencies and offered his assistance to the US. Gorerment. In an OE'IM report dated 15 September 1950, Subject advised that through a friend, Max Henriques, who Subject claimed to be a representative for the hainican Republic to the United Nations, Subject had become acqua.nted with Vincente Toledano, and was J sufficiently close to him to obtain important information concerning activittes of the Communist party in Lxico.
