SUBJECT 1 3-13 may Interrogation of NOSENKO

            1. Although I have attended all nine (9) sessions in the current

phase of VOSENEIKs interrogation, I as yet have been unable to determine
the reasons for the interregatom,9 conduct and canner and the true purpose

       of the phase itself.

             2. As the interrogator noted in the beginning, he is to be concerned

only with certain personal matters. The interregation of BOLE=IK along
such Lines and XLENK0s responses - neither have produced any change in

my opinion of NOSENK0 nor have appeared to have opened up any new, useful
        or valu.ble information to us.

             3. Perhaps, from the psycholoists' point of view, this interrogation

has been of Some value; but, even if this is so, I cannot see it from a

review of his reports. These reports all contain basic errors arising from

the psychologist's lack of knowledge of Soviet eality and his lack of

experience with the true nature of Soviet an. The psychologist is not

prepared to properly deal with and evaluate NDSEIM) because NSENKhO is
first, a Russian; second, a Soviet; third, a Comnist an, in addition to

all of this, a highly trained intelligence agent.

             4. NDSEED0 is one of a knd. It is quite likely that the psychologist

never has experieLced such a personality before. Then, with the wide

difference in their backgrounis and the psycholejiates resulting inability

to uniorstand NOSEIO's character, it is unerstandable that he cannot

properly judeZOS1iKO an 1is conduct. The-most-we can mm go on in

AMEJlO's case h*andzm are the carefully c nsidered opinions of these who
