 SOURCE, A former Cuban IS officer who served with the Cuban Intelligence
        Service until April 1964.

        Headquarters Comments

        The.following report is one of a series containing  personality
        information provided by the source and includes supplemental
        information from the records of this Agency.

        It is requested that the addressees take no action on any of
        the individuals mentioned in the personality reports without
        first checking with this Agency.


            1.  Arturo HERNANDEZ Telleria  was a.sergeant in BATISTA's
       police force; he accompanied BATISTA  when he was overthrown and
       escaped'to Sffnto Domidsgo. After a few days HERNANDEZ returned to
       Habana.  HERNANDEZ is now the Chief  of Archives of the Direccion
       General do Inteligencia  (General Directorate of Intelligence - DGI).

            2.  HERNANDEZ was born sometime prior  to 1919.  He is five
       feet nie  inches tall, 180 pounds, has  a heavy build, and gray
       hair .1a,3

       Headquarters Comments:

       1.   In a report dated 5 August 1959, a  fairly reliable source
           stated  that Ar.oro TELLERIA Hernandez,  a sergeant, is an
           agent  in Bureau A Archives of the Technical  Department
           of  Investigktion of the National Revolutionary Police  (UTIPNR).

      2.  In an official  directive issued by the Technical Department  of
           Investigation  of the Cuban Revolutionary Police on  20 April
           1960, Arturo TELLERIA  Hernandez was listed as a sergeant  in the5
           Archives Section.   This report was dated 19 October 1960.       4
