   MMORANDUM FOR E RECOZ D

SUBJECTs Tebphone Conversation with Bernie Reichhardt, 25 August

        1. At 110 hours 25 t Bernie Raicherdt called frc
1 Minni and asked for fom F1ore , who was not in. He then asked to
speak to me. Ee said that in accordance with our request, he had
established contact with QDHAR and asked him if he could furnish
aser aditional information on the large revolutionary radio center
coaleted in March 1959, and on Augustin CAPO wb, according to
QX-A, was the engineer in charge of construction of this radio
center. QDCEAR said he was unable to add anything to the infor-
nation he had firmished in his origi4'1 debriefing, and said he
kew nothing of the operations or who was in charge of or employed
at the radio center. He repeated that the center was very large
and very expensive and said that CA3 had made a trip to 5itzer-
land to buy the eouipment. He volunteered information that CAPO's
brother, Ernesto CAPO Jimenez do Ciszeros, was a Car=ist and that
he had seen Erresto at a meeting in -avana, before BATISZ1 fell,
when clandestice plans were being made to get Augustin, then treas-
urer of the 26th of July Movement, out of Cuba because his life was
in danger. l^A.R said he didn't know whether CAO was still con-
nected with the radio center, but c~aented that if contact could
be established CWO would be able to furnish information about the-
center. I don't know what reply Reichhardt made to QDCEA on this,
but he said to ne that it was his unierstanding during his ree-ent
trip to Eeadquarters that contacts on the various operational leads
furnished by %CEaR would be made th-ugh the Havana Station, and
he assumed it was being done.

        2. Reich:ardt said that he had not received the personal docu-
ammts of QDGAR which had been forwarded from Headquarters as a
separate attachment to WuM-W-8. He was told they left this office

on 20 August.

     3. Reicherdt said that on the basis of inforration frba
Station Havana (WVA-2590 that famiv were leaving Havana for Mexico
the morning of 24 August), DGHAR had called Mexico last night and
learned they had not arrived. He wanted to know if any further in-
formation had been received from Havana about the family, and was
told there had been none.
