Reference Havana letter dated July 29, 1958.

               On August 3, 1958, HAV-31 advised-that JACK LANSKY had
received a letter from DAN DUSTY PETERS, Credit Manager at the,
Havana-Riviera casino. This letter requested JACK NSKY to make
reservations at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas for PAT PERDUE. Source
stated-he recalled PERDUE as having been a Miami police officer whp f
was on the take from gamblers in Florida.'Sourie noted that since
LANSKY was absent from the casino, this matter was handled by other
     employees.

On August 6, 1958, JACKsLANSKY advised that interest holders
in the Hotel Nacional casino were having a meeting on that date in
New York City with representatives of the Intercontinental Hotels
Corporation in an effort to reach some agreement concerning the sale
of the gambling casino in the Hotel Nacional.. LANSKY noted that
business in the casino had improved and the casino is now making
     money.

On September 15, 1958, PCI Arthur Newman (conceal), Credit
Manager of the gambling casino of the Notel Nacional, advised it
appeared very possible that the major stock interest in the casino
at the Nacional might be sold to MIKE*,McLANEY of Miami. Newman note.
that while the deal was not final, 'it was practicalily7eiy for signing.
Source said if the deal goes through, the manager of the casino will
probably be an individual namedSCHWARTZ, who former1y rana clandestine
gambling operation in Atlantic q0ty, egfgrsey. Source noted that 1
SCHWARTZ had this gambling operation on an off and on' basis in
Atlantic City for about 20 years. Source stated that SCHWARTZ'
place -was knocked over by New Jersey State Police this past summer
and that the business had closed.

Source stated that if MC LANEY was able to purchase the
major stock interest, it appeared that JACK LANSKY would in all
probability go to the Havana-Riviera Hotel to operate the casino there.
Source said that LANSKY gave strong indications that he is desirous
of retiring. Source noted that LANSKY is presently in Miami for a
physical examination and expects to be-operated on for hemorrhoids
