. This subject has bean coon three times at the Psycholoical Servico
. Center. On April 9, 1964, we had a long interview with hLi in which
ho explained the history of his seiZures. On Juno 11, 1994, he
raceivod the TAT and a Freo Association Test, ucin3 a list of words
that was especially prepared for him. Cn that date, he promised
to coma back to bring a List that he had made of all his seizures
since Septcimber 199'2 up to the present time, with an indication of
the emotional problems that he had on the days he was sick, This
liat wae brou&ht, by him, to our office on Juno 30, 1964,

To try to determine if there woro any psychological factors influ-
encing this subject's opiloptic aoizuros,

rpesiulto of Psycholo-ial Javsti.ation

In a case such as this, it is obvious that or;anic factors are the
main doterminant of the pationtla discoe, but from the interview
and the tests, we received the impression that the patient's nmotion-
al state has often played a certain role in triogering his epileptic
seizures, Paychothorapoutic treatment that vould enable this pa-
tient to gain better control of his emotions would obviously be high-
ly beneficial for him,

I ntattence

This subject was not formally tested in order to determine his I.Q.,
but from his conversation and from his responses to the personality
testc, it is quito clear that he is a man endvcd with a cuperior
intolligenco, although soma impairmont has neczarily resulted be-
cause of his frequent opiloptic seizuros, and, recently, because of
his brain surgery. Ho was not osted for inteli-ence becauso it was
-not feasiblo to do so since his operation had been done just a few
weeks ago and the possibility of some transient offects of the sur-
gical procedure mLght atill influence any results. Howaver, from a
strictly clinical viewpoint, when comparing the cubject's reaction
before and after the oporation, the amount of impairment produced
by the operation does not seem to be really considorablo, and$ on the
other hand, there is a romarkable decrease in his anxiety.
