                     Intr matton on Seven Cuban Internal Resistance Grouaps


                     Information provided us by our Internal.asets  and Cubar ex-

             filtrees indicate that seven, groups opposing Castro are -making -efforts

             to consolidate into one unified resistance.  A brief description of

             the groups foli lows!

                    a.  Movidmiento de Recuperacian Revolucionarlo Q4RR):  The

            primary strength of thie group'lies in the Havae  area, the Santa

            Clarauarea, and certain areas of Pidar del Rio.  Its ailitant member-

            ship numbers 175.  Comunication  with this group is maintained thrcugh

            one WIT circuit and SY commuications.   The leader of this group, one

            OMAR, to presently in the United StAtea&and is .about to retdrn to

            Cuba.  In his absence, ESTAA   ii the actin  leader.  Although.in the

            past we provided this group with equipment, money, radio operators

            and trained specialists, we have rcently  only been able to get 1500

            pounds of material into them. Hoever,   we are presently attempting

            to infiltrata tWo radio sets zo this group and backstopping their pro-

            curement of operational funds. locally through deposits made to donor

            accounce in the United States. This group gives the most promise for

            effective operations and has a potentLal for sabotage, propaganda and

            intelligence activity. Fxternally, the principal representatives are

            Rafael Aurelio QUINrO  (the OMAR) and Juan Kanual CUILLOT,  The  MRL

            faction of the original MR contains as external leaders Ricardo

            LORIE and 5ia0 DIAi . .
