Thank you very much for your memorandam of 13 October, referenced above, &ad for the enclosed contact report. including AEMUSMCAL'o report on the information he acquired from Subject concerning the latter's interview by CNI and contact %ith William Hamilton MARTIEN. Neither the biographic data on SU MAN contained therea no, ie close association with both MARTIN and Beron Fergene MITCMLL. were known to us hitherto. Neither were we aware of his apparently extensive correapondence with MARTIN. It han not been possie to date to verify through special sources whether Subject's correndence with MARTIN continued alter MARTIN's disappearance from the United States. We-have not as yet received the latest NSA report of investigation, which would include the (.*N1 report of interview of Subject, since the document apparently has been delayed in publication and tianasnittal. However, we have been advised tat the doum@ez in gestion should be availaipe in approAi- mately one week to ten days. at which time we shall provide you with the 02k report of their interview of Subject. Z. In reply to the query outlined in paragraph 3 of yor memo- randum, we see little point in attempting to discourage AEMUSICAL frem passing this information to the Soviets, both on basls of his past performance in reporting, and because the KGB undoubtedly already is aware of SUMAN's relationship to MARTIN, MITCHELL. and ALMUSICAL. As a consequeace, is woud not appear necessary to request GNI to clear this inforation for passage to the Soviets by AEMUSICAI, pas- ticularly siace it meet be assumed that the KGB is monitoring all mal seat and received in the USSR by MAaTIN and MITCHLL.
