                              Garrison's oilice announced that WOOD had been fired because it had been
                              asceirained that he was then active as a CIA 'bperatlve. Later in
                              Doi*ember WOOD  Made  two telephone, calls to his Lormer chic in
                              -requesting contact and instructions. The case is beingt referred to the FBI.

                                  1. William Clareas WOwD  Jr., born 17 August ;920 in Shreveport,
                              Louisiana, was approved in November 1)44 for overseas emnloyment
                              by OSS In an assignmment as a newapaperrman (printing chief In a Gentral
                              Pacitc operation). This appiroval was withdrawn on 23 Decembfer 1944,
                              oewever, because of on-concurrence by !OG/AAF.  He wan then assigned
                              to cornbatinfantry duty in the Southweet Pacific, he was not used by OSS.
                              In February !945 he visited the kionolulu Of fice o OS& and claimed that
