After talking with Haxry, it was apparent that'he would attept to cont4t'
COBB. I therefore discussed with Ralph True and Joe LIahgn the most secure method
--to hLrde COSB' arrrival ih -the' States for her next ithterievw ahd polygraph . It was
decidei to give Harry. the name of a hotel into which COBB hbould check upon arrival
after she.had received our signal to, make the trip. _I phonedHarry oh Sunday and.
reminded him again thiat we did rot approve of his contact with COBB in Habana, but
that if he intende to d.s o desnite our feeling in the matter, that heshould set
- up soe signal by which we cold alert her for the trip, and also tell her she was
to check into the Statler Hotel near Penn Station. The approximate date set for
her -next interview wold be the yeek of the 22nd of August.

On ZS July Harz-y Hern.sdorf informed Jean Pierson that he was gong to Habana
oniay, the 31st, and would contact June COBB. He was reminded that the Brahch
was nt in accord with his contActing her in Cuba. He replied that Col. King was
-interdsted in the case, and besides he wanted some stamps autographed by CASTROand
 Juzhe could get it done.

I discussed the -proposed trip with who suggested that I see
Harry again to clarify the Branch feeling about e uba contact, to determine just
what the trip was really foe ..and as a last resort, if Harry -intended- to go anyway,
to arrive at some meahs of co..uiicating with- COBB since the plan he had set up with
her previously could-not -be satisfactorily backstopped.

Cn Fri day morning, the 29th, I agaih discussed the proposed -trip ith -Haiy,
and reiterated again thei4/, positioh re QCBB. I Aiso inqiiird the .purposef -the'
trip - whether it was primarily -for- the purpose of contacting COBB Har said,.
-.ohe. had other busihess but that as'long ahe was -there he -tho6ghthewbuld drop i
in to see her. hnen I asked when and where, he replied Probably at her apartment abofit
ten c rleven at night. In rely to my query Ab -to -whether this, was rot'a -rather
strange time for an u.Irannounced visit; he said that there were several entrances to the
buildiing without going past the desk'. He- also said that he would be travelling under
Austria- papers~as Heinrich Heubner from Jamaica and would arouse no suspicion.
                                                           m communicating with.
expressed somedoubt over the sedurity of the means of aiestng.- COBB set
up by Harry. dinrtg her June trio to the Etates ,since it was not backatopped. There
is also'.a labk of sedurity- in-Harr'yIs previous visits to COBB1a apartment during his

he recoghized this possibility, did not-sem-too disturbed about it.
