                          REFERENCE: L.A/CO/235-77Dated 30 September 1977

IZ The referent memorandum reported infornation fror
a ZRMAist intelligence .i rt of a statenent mde by the
Mifister-Counsellor (MC) of the Cuban Emnbassy- ini______
Lon 24 September 1977, that Cuban exiles-,uch as
AZLA niu (sic) and others had been involved in the
assassinato oPresident John F. Kennedy. h'p believe
that this could refer either to Pedro DIA Lanz, or ies
brother 11larcos DIAZ Lan:, formerly Chief and Deputy Chief,
respectively. of the Ciihir Revolutionary Air FL'*ce. Both
entered the U3.S. from Cuba as exiles in mid-i959. Since
thae time the DIAZ Lanz brothers reportedly have been
closely associated with, and involved in numerouI activitic

entered the U.S. on his own. Although hoth were debriefed

by the Agency, there is no indication that they were ever
                         considered Agency assets.

source said that the MC referred to the Kenned%- assassina-
tion during a pep talk to party members to maintain good
security. Further, that the 1C said that recrnt infor-
mation had arrived implicating DIA7 Lan (fnzi) (sic),
forer air force officer, in the Kennedy assacsination

source of his information the [ Station source had
the impression that the informationeight have been included
in a cable from the Cuban Ministr% of Foreign Affairs. The
