THE RECORD SUBJECTs Telephone Conversation with AMME-1 about his meting With Luis SOloSA DATE 10 Jply 1963, 1800 hours 1. AZMM-1 call-d me to tell me that he had had lunch with Luis SMOSA. He said Sonosa' a aparent purpose in arranging the luncheon, for it had been upor Soosa's initiative that they had gotten together, was to discuss certain Cuban refugees Who seem to be gearing up for action in regard to the question of Cuban liberation. I asked after naes and Subject cited Veciana, Batista Falla, and AMBI~Dil, stating that these were the names Somosa had thrown out during discussion. I asked Subject to tell me .hat he had said in regard to eaca azd atteVpted to elicit tosa's own views on each of these oersonalities. Pertinent for the record is the fact inaz Subject declared to Somosa taat AMIDDY-1 wass in his avw view, a very questionable fellow for two reasonst the first, he was overly. cocky and inordinately ambitious and, secondly, he comes fron a pro-comunist fanily. In an attempt to determine Sonosa' s view on AIaDDY-1, I requested that Subject define more precisely what he meant by colurnist family, but was unable to obtain a meaningful response. I asked Subject if in the last instance it simply didn't boil down to the fact that he just didn't like MBDDI and he ageed that tnis night well be the case. Along the line Subject stated that Souosa had simply been thinking of taking up some sort of contact with AJSIDDY-1. I did not press for further details in view of my presumption that there was probably some special sort of relationship between Souose and AMIDDY-1, the nature of which it would be unbealthy for Subject to knw - '7.*~~.y'--~ 2. 2oa portions of the phone chl. devoted to AMIDDY-1 did not bear the same proportions to the. wole as the discussion of AMBIDDY-1 does to this report. The balk of the conversation concrned inquiries on my part into the depth and nature of Subject's relationship with Sonosa.
