SUBJECT : Senate Select Comittee Request
(Roselli/Miakeu/Giancana Matter)
1. Reference is made to a 28 August 1975 memorandum for
The Review Staff (OS 57525), sane subject, which responded to
a request from the Senate Select Conittoe concerning the
Roselli/Maheu/Giancana matter.
2. As indicated in reference, the pertinent Office of
Security files concerning this matter were to be made available
to designated Senate Select Committee Staff members, within the
ostablished fraework for the Senate Select Comitteets review
of Office So urity files. On 28 August 1975 fron 1530-1345
hours', Mr. LJohn . Hunt]and Mr. Stanley L. Smith of the 'Office
of Security met with Mr. Andrew Postal, Senate Select Comittee
Staff vember, in order that Mr. Postal could review cited files.
3. A brief description of the Office of Security files
and materials therein which were Made available for Mr. Postal's
review appears below:
a. Salvatore Giancana (SP#564 4-S0): Mr. Postal
reviewed thos7e ocuments within the Giancana file
which pertain to the Roselli/Maheu/Giancana matter,
but was not shown material unrelated to this matter.
b. John Roselli (SFU667 270): Mr. Postal
reviewfed thie majority of the John Roselli file, in
that the docuMnOts contained therein primarily con-
corn the Roselli/MahoulGiancana Castro assassination
attept as well as subsequent contacts with individ-
uals and/or investigations concerning this =atter by
the Agency. -However, 'Mr. Postal was not shown cortain
documents which are unrelated to this matter.
