T h f , h eplan-atio y srems plausil- that hI was in Washington basically to see Jerry Hannifin of the Time/Life bureau to discus i a lead on who might have leaked IT1 documnents to Jack Anderzo lendrix explained that he vas recently told by a Caribbean ruffian naried Fau Goodfriend that the person who furnished thxc IT documents to Jack Anderron was Irving Davidson, an old friend of Andarcon who sorme yearL, ago had once set aside a desk in his office for Andcercon to use on occasion. Goodfriend said that the picture of Dita Beard with a number of her Wfashington contacts publidhed early in the YI T scandal days had included Davidson somewhiere in the group. David-on is described as a lobbyist for one or more Latin American Governments as well as for Israel. lHannifin is considered a very knowledlgeable and tructed friend by Icndrix who wanted Hannifin's opinion whether *Davidson might in fact be a vcurce of Anderson'A. F~innifin'e initial impression was . that this was a remote possibility, but he said he would check around and * try and talk to Davicdfon hirself to see whether he could get a rise on the question of ITT. HlTendri.: said he camrne away from the meting with Eannifin pretty we1l convinced.that the lead to Davidson as the source on ITT documents xwas probably not a good one.
