       Jan Darpa
is emeritus professor of environmental law at the Uppsala Universitet Faculty
of Law. His research has focused on remediation of contaminated land, envi-
ronmental  procedure, permit regimes, nature conservation and species pro-
tection. Since 2oo8, he is the chair of the Task Force on Access to Justice under
the Aarhus Convention. He has also worked as a lead consultant to the Euro-
pean Commission   and evaluator for several international research institutes.
Jan Darpd is a member of the Avosetta group of European environmental law
professors and the Advisory Board of the European Environmental Law Forum
(EELF) and OfJEEPL.

        Ludwig Krdmer
Dr. iur, studied law and history in Kiel, Munchen and Paris (ena). Judge at the
Landgericht Kiel (1969 till 2004). Official of the Commission of the European
Community,   environmental department  (1972 till 2004). Since then retired
from both functions. LL.D University Hamburg. Visiting Professor at Univer-
sity College London. Running an environmental law  consultancy Derecho
y Medio  Ambiente in Madrid. Working with ClientEarth, an environmental
ngo. Publication of some 20 books and more than 24o articles on EU environ-
mental law.

        Charlotte Streck
Dr. Prof. h.c., is co-founder and director of Climate Focus. She serves as an
advisor to numerous governments and non-profit organizations, private com-
panies, and foundations on legal aspects of climate policy, international nego-
tiations, policy development and implementation. Prior to founding Climate
Focus, Charlotte worked from 2000 to 2005 as Senior Counsel with the World
Bank in Washington, D C. Charlotte serves on several advisory and investment
committees, is a chair of the board of the Climate Strategies research network
and is a lecturer Potsdam University. She is a prolific writer, lecturer, and is an
associate editor of the journal Climate Policy. Charlotte holds degrees from the
University of Regensburg (MSc in Biology) and Humboldt University (JD and
PhD  in law).
