Contributors
ASTRID EPINEY, Dr. iur., is Professor in European and Public International
Law at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and director at the Institute
of European Law. Her teaching, research and publications lie mainly in the
fields of European Environmental Law, Fundamental Liberties, European
Constitutional Law, Transport Law, European Migration Law as well as the
relationship between Switzerland and The European Union.
ECKARD REHBINDER, Dr. jur., is Professor emeritus of Economic Law,
Environmental Law and Comparative Law at the Research Centre for
Environmental Law at Goethe-University Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
NICOLAS DE SADELEER is Professor of Law at Saint-Louis University (Brussels),
and guest professor at UCL (Belgium) and Lund University (Sweden). Being
based in Brussels, he plays an active part in debates on EU legal and institu-
tional issues. He is holding a Jean Monnet Chair. In addition, he has
taught law in French, English and Spanish in a number of universities across
Europe.
JERZY JENDRO KA, Ph.D., is the Managing Partner of Jendroika Jerzmanski
Bar & Partners. Environmental Lawyers, and the Director of the Environ-
mental Law Center in Wroclaw. He is also Adjunct Professor of European
and International Law and the Director of Post-Graduate Program in
European Environmental Law at Opole University. Since 1990 Mr. Jendroika
has been heavily involved in drafting environmental legislation in Poland
and has served in various governmental advisory bodies. He has also been
involved in a number of international processes, including serving as the
Vice-Chair of the Aarhus Convention negotiations (1996-1998) and SEA
Protocol negotiations (2001-2003), as the Secretary to the Aarhus Convention
(1998-1999) and the Chair of the Aarhus Convention Bureau. He currently
serves as an arbitrator at the Permanent Court ofArbitrage in the Hague (since
zooz) and as a member of Aarhus Compliance Committee (since 2005) and
Implementation Committee of the Espoo Convention (since 2004).
