Mr. Chairman and Members of the Subcommittee:
We are pleased to be here today to discuss ourL jecom-
mendations to amend the Presidential Transition Act and
the Former Presidents Ac and to describe the scope of our
current audit of expenditures under the Former Presidents Act.
PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION ACT
OF 1963
The purpose of the Presidential Transition Act of 1963
is to promote the orderly transfer of executive power in con-
nection with the expiration of the term of office of a Presi-
dent and the inauguration of a new President.
