activities. Comparizons with nutritional guidelines esta£1ishel
in other countries revealed differences it, dietary
recommendations resulting from variaticrs in people and
lifestyles and differences of scientific opinicn. RLAs are
establishcd through a reasonable prccess and serve their
intended purpose. Additional research is needed to expand
knowledge concerning nutrient requirements. The NAS should
identify these reeds and establish pricrities relating tc human
nutritionai requirements. Also, mre seaningful food planning
and food choice quides for the consumer should Le develcied.
